Dr. Dutton
I just spent a very nice weekend in Denver at a meeting of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP). The ABVP is one of a handful of organizations that test and certify veterinarians as specialists in various fields.
The ABVP is practitioner based which means that is it designed for veterinarians out in private practice. Other specialties are typically academia based so the veterinarians go through a residency.
I have been a Board certified specialist in Canine and Feline Practice for 14 years. I find the higher level of veterinary medicine is exciting and stimulating.
